In my own journey as a caregiver, one of the things I found most frustrating was that I found it incredibly difficult to find the right people to help, as my mother’s needs were there.  I found myself on many occasions sitting in moments of confusion, indecision or frustration.  I remember each crossroads and the many decisions I needed to make.  When I made those decisions I was never really sure I made the right ones which had I known more at the time I would have done so many things differently- thus AnswersForElders.com was born.

Unlike most online sites, in most cases AnswersForElders.com doesn’t necessarily hire contract writers for our written content.  Instead, we keep a small tight crew, and we ask those tough questions to the very people who work with our difficult family caregiver issues every day.  They are featured in our Decision Guide, and contribute content in over 40 categories of information.

They are:

  • The Elder Law, Patient Advocacy, or Estate Planning Attorney; each which works with families to protect a senior’s assets, and helping them to qualify for Medicaid, protect their interest in various situations, including their estate, right down to making sure their dignity and comfort is secure in nursing homes and/or their rights as a patient.  They help to recognize and are there for families in case of neglect or abuse.
  • The Maintenance and Home Contractors: Those who spend each day working to make living spaces accessible and workable for seniors as they age.  They help you understand how to hire the right kind of contractor, or how to maintain and upkeep Mom & Dad’s home.
  • The Long Term Care, Healthcare Supplemental Insurance, Reverse Mortgage or Tax Professionals:  We discover the Financial and Investment Planners who know the right way to structure and assist in securing a solid financial retirement, or the way to manage a senior’s finances in affording a high quality of life while protecting those assets.
  • We also bring the experts forward who know the answers in Living Solutions, whether it be a Senior Real Estate Specialist, or Home Care Professional, or Retirement Living.  They know what to look for and how to help, and can answer your questions, or even more, tell you questions you need to be asking in trying to find the right fit for your parent that serves their special needs.
  • The Hospice and Funeral pre-planners, the Movers and Relocation Specialists who understand those major transitions in life and in death,
  • Those who help with the day to day- such as Transportation Professionals,  Health or Wellness Practitioners, and many more to mention.

We at AnswersForElders.com find these esteemed professionals where they live, and as our site grows, our plan is to have a local expert contributing to a vast content base who understands the laws, the nuances, and the customs of their LOCAL community.  They will work with a large network of specialists who can make the life of a caregiver a little better each and every day.

Each one of our experts have embraced our vision, and have stepped up to the plate to help the many families and family caregivers looking for answers along the way.   They are the leaders in their industry, and we look forward to building a team across the USA in over 40 categories of topics, all relevant to the path you as a family caregiver faces each and every day.

As we look to a new year, I want to express our sincere gratitude for each one of you, Our Experts.   Thank you to each one of you who are part of this site and the future experts who are yet to be.  We are all truly grateful to you for taking that leap of faith to be a part of our new site and helping the many families who are struggling to find the right answers and resources in caring for their parents along the way!  We are looking forward to an incredible 2012 for us all!
